Stephen Reisinger promoted to Chief of Surveys

Stephen Reisinger assumes the post of Chief of Surveys effective today.  Steve joined us in December 2013 with nearly 40 years of experience as a surveyor, during 10 years of which he owned and operated his own survey firm.  He is licensed in Pennsylvania and New York.  Steve’s experience will be applied to the oversight of all survey processes and products; coordination and scheduling of field crews; coordination with our CAD staff on the production of mapping and plans; assisting with technical and price proposals; plans review; and training of junior survey staff.

Susquehanna Civil Moves up in CPBJ's Top 25 Engineering Firms

Susquehanna Civil has appeared in the Central Pennsylvania Buisiness Journal's Top 25 List of Engineering Firms for the second year.  The list appeared in the March 21 addition of the CPBJ, ranking engineering firms by local revenue.  Susquehanna Civil, with 2013 revenue of $4.79 million, was ranked #20, moving up from #25 last year.

Susquehanna Civil, Inc. is pleased to announce that Stephen Reisinger, PLS has joined as surveying project manager.  Mr. Reisinger is skilled in all phases of surveying operations, with 40 years of practical experience ranging from boundary and transportation surveys to personnel management.  While owning and operating a land surveying business for 10 years and during recent employment, he has managed dozens of projects simultaneously.

Susquehanna Civil Welcomes John Yacapsin

Susquehanna Civil, Inc. is pleased to announce that John Yacapsin, P.E. has been added as a principal.  Mr. Yacapsin brings over 20 years experience in transportation engineering, has managed many large-scale transportation engineering projects during his career and is a highly experienced bridge engineer.  Prior to joining Susquehanna Civil, Mr. Yacapsin served as Vice President of Central and Western PA operations at McMahon Associates.  In addition, he served as Chief Bridge Engineer for the firm and was responsible for providing management for the offices in the region as well as multiple projects in the company.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Yacapsin served as VP/Sr. Project Manager at C.C. Johnson & Malhotra, P.C., and as project manager/engineer at Sheladia Associates.  During his career, Mr. Yacapsin managed projects for agencies along the East Coast including Virginia DOT, Maryland SHA, NJ DOT, Florida DOT, Massachusetts Highway, in addition to PennDOT and the PA Turnpike Commission.  Mr. Yacapsin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from The Catholic University of America and has completed graduate studies in structural engineering at Penn State.  He is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Delaware, and Florida, and is a certified Bridge Safety Inspector.  Mr. Yacapsin is also active in several professional societies, having served as past chair of the ACEC/PA Quality Task Force

Susquehanna Civil has just executed a lease on new space at 50 Grumbacher Rd., York, PA  17406.  It is located in the I-83 Business Park, north of York next to Strine Printing and the YTI Motorcycle repair training facility.  We will be moving in October.  Stay tuned for more details.

Susquehanna Civil announces the addition of Namit Sinha, EIT

SCI is pleased to announce Namita Sinha, EIT as environmental manager beginning June 13.  She brings over ten years of progressive experience in the environmental/engineering industry including several years of recent experience providing environmental site assessments and documentation for numerous PennDOT and PA Turnpike projects.  Namita holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Gujarat University, India, and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Akron.

Lea Nadler named as a 2013 Women of Influence

Lea A. Nadler, P.E. has been named to the 2013 Central Penn Business Journal’s Women of Influence awards.  The Central Penn Business Journal's Women of Influence awards program recognizes women business leaders who are influential in their companies, industries and communities. 

The 25 Women of Influence recipients and the three special recognition award honorees will be recognized at an awards ceremony on May 13, 2013 at the Hilton Harrisburg.  All 28 women will also be profiled in a special publication inserted in the May 17, 2013 issue of the Central Penn Business Journal where they will note the triumphs and challenges that have shaped their careers.

Susquehanna Civil announces the addition of Haibo Liang, P.E.

Susquehanna Civil is proud to announce that Haibo Liang, P.E. has joined the firm as geotechnical engineer.  Mr. Liang holds both Bachelor and Master Degrees in Civil Engineering from Tsinghua University, China.  He has been working in industry for the past 11 years performing geotechnical design calculations and analysis for civil engineering projects in the mid-atlantic region.  Previous professional experience includes 12 years in academia in the U.S. and China, conducting research, teaching and performing consulting work.
