Crystalann is taking on this new role of VP of Business Development at SCI. Her responsibilities will include client marketing and communications, and teaming strategies and planning.
Prior to joining Susquehanna Civil in 2014, Crystalann Deardorff gained 12 years of experience in a wide range of transportation projects, rising to Senior Associate at a national engineering firm. Her duties as part of the leadership staff are project management and client and staff development.
Crystalann was named an Associate in 2015 and in 2017. She was promoted to Director of Business Systems, assuming responsibility for the drafting group as well as companywide IT, where she is leading numerous technology initiatives.
In January of 2018, as the firm’s newest owner, Crystalann assumed the role of Vice President of Business Systems and a place on Susquehanna Civil’s Board of Directors. In January 2020, the company’s business needs to be changed and her role expanded to Vice President of Business Development. She is certified as a Bridge Inspector (CBI), and has training and experience in both noise and air quality analysis.
Crystalann holds a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Lafayette College and is registered in PA and MD. In 2018, she was named one of Central Penn Business Journal’s 40 under 40 and in 2019 she joined the Mentorship York Program.
Crystalann has been active in promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) by volunteering in local schools and with Junior Achievement. She is also very active in encouraging women to pursue technology and transportation fields by volunteering with Girl Scouts and by serving in WTS International where she was formerly president of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter for 4 years as well as sitting on the ACEC/PA Diverse Partnership Committee.
