Susquehanna Civil Welcomes Adam Gladfelter

Susquehanna Civil welcomes Adam Gladfelter in the role of Senior Transportation Designer.  His 9 years of highway design experience include serving as lead designer developing projects from conceptual through final design, in areas such as line and grade, safety review, design field view, pre-PSE and PS&E, and approved construction plan set.  Adam has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Widener University.

Susquehanna Civil named to top 50 fastest Growing Companies

Central Pennsylvania Business Journal has named Susquehanna Civil to the CPBJ's top 50 fastest growing companies for 2015.  Specific rankings will be revealed at an awards ceremony to be held Friday Oct. 23 at the Hilton Harrisburg.

SCI Welcomes Siobhan Kiernan, EIT

Susquehanna Civil is happy to welcome Siobhan Kiernan, EIT to the firm.  She is a recent graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Engineering Mechanics.  Siobhan previously worked at PennDOT District 5-0 in Allentown and Norfolk Southern Railroad in Virginia.

Susquehanna Civil Awarded Turnpike Open End

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Comission (PTC) this week awarded Susquehanna Civil a contract for Open End Engineering Design Services - Systemwide.  This marks the firm's first PTC project as a prime consultant.

Susquehanna Civil Welcomes Eric Yost, SIT

Susquehanna Civil welcomes Eric Yost, SIT, as surveying project manager.  Following his service in the U.S. Marine Corps, Eric has worked eighteen years in the surveying business. He holds an A.A. in General Studies from HACC.

Susquehanna Civil featured in Bentley 2014 Infrastructure Yearbook

Susquehanna Civil has been featured in the 2014 Infrastructure Yearbook, published by Bentley Systems.  The yearbook features all of the project nominees in this year's Be Inspired awards program.  Susquehanna Civil submitted "Test Bore Logging Innovation Using Benley's gINT."

Susquehanna Civil named Employer of the Year by WTS Central PA Chapter

Susquehanna Civil Inc. has been selected as Employer of the Year by the Central PA WTS Chapter in their support of recruiting, retaining and advancing women in transportation.

The award will be presented at the WTS annual awards banquet on Tuesday, February 10that the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel.

In addition, the Central PA WTS Chapter will be nominating Susquehanna Civil for the WTS International Employer of the Year award.

WTS is an international organization dedicated to building the future of transportation through the global advancement of women. With more than 5,000 members, WTS is turning the glass ceiling into a career portal through its professional programs, networking opportunities, and unparalleled access to industry and government leaders.

We're still growing

On January 1st 2015, Susquehanna Civil completed a 5000 s.f. office expansion.  We now have the capacity to better accomodate field vehicles and equipment and have eliminated the need for instruments and valuable equipment to be loaded at the beginning and removed at the end of each day for overnight storage.  We are excited to be able to better serve our clients in the new year.

Susquehanna Civil procures new HD laser scanner

Susquehanna Civil has continued incorporation of laser imaging into its' survey capabilities with a significant investment in new technology.  SCI has just received the Leica ScanStation P20, replacing our Leica ScanStation 2.  The new device will achieve 1 million points per second scan speed plus sub-millimeter range noise – even out to 120m.  The new equipment also eliminated the need for external power and computer control. 

SCI Welcomes Rebecca Wagner

Rebecca Wagner has joined the Susquehanna Civil team as a Drafter.  Rebecca recently completed her externship at Susquehanna Civil while earning her Associate in Specialized Technology degree from YTI Career Institute.

SCI announces 2 new PMs

We are delighted to announce the addition of two Project Managers to our team: 

Rosanna Smithnosky, P.E., brings 21 years of experience as a highway designer and project manager in PennDOT and Turnpike work, most of which was in eastern and southcentral PA.  Rosanna holds a BS Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and is registered in Pennsylvania.  She is a member of the Central PA Chapter of WTS International, and many ACEC/PA members know her from Central Chapter meetings.

Crystalann Deardorff, P.E.,  has 12 years of experience in a wide range of projects, much of which includes PennDOT and Turnpike work.  Crystalann holds a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Lafayette College, and she is registered in Pennsylvania and Maryland.  She is certified in bridge inspection and in pipeline assessment, and she has been trained in air quality and noise analysis.  She is a member of ASCE and of WTS International, which she currently serves as the Vice President of the Central PA Chapter.

SCI expands its' service area

Due to our continued growth, Susquehanna Civil has expanded it's service area.  In addition to serving our core areas of PennDOT Districts 5-0, 6-0, 8-0 and PA Turnpike Commission, Susquehanna Civil is now available to team in portions of PennDOT Districts 2-0, 3-0, 4-0, & 9-0 out of our office, just north of York, PA.

SCI Welcomes Jonathan Roberts

Jonathan Roberts has joined Susquehanna Civil as a survey technician.  Jon is a civil/architectural graduate of Penn Tech and has 19 years of experience in site and transportation surveying.

Susquehanna Civil adds Theresa Pasko as Administrative asst.

Suquehanna Civil is happy to announce the addition of Theresa Pasko as administrative assistant in our accounting area.  She brings over 15 years of corporate accounting experience and holds a B.S. in Public Accounding from Fordham University.

Executive Staff Promotions

Susquehanna Civil is pleased to announce the following changes to the executive staff.  Kenneth Nadler, P.E. has been promoted to Executive Vice President.  John Yacapsin, P.E. has been promoted to Vice President of Operations.
